Hi This is Sandy. Cathy had a full case study done by the doctors on Monday and they have decided that they will not be giving her anymore treatments. The cancer is too aggressive and the chemo is not doing anything to it so they are looking at quality days now. The nurses have also talked to the family and have voiced their concern for the number of visitors Cathy is receiving and her lack of time to rest. The family and the medical staff have agreed at this point to run the following visiting schedule. There will be no visitors allowed on Tuesday and Thursdays. The other 5 days of the week there will be no visitors allowed from 1:00P.M. until 3:30P.M. Jennifer and Jeffrey are keeping a visiting calendar online so that we can control the number of visitors Cathy receives. If you want to visit Cathy could you please email Jen at spearchuckjen@hotmail.com or Jeffery at imunalia@gmail.com and they will confirm if you will be able to visit. We all apologize for having to do this but our concern is for Cathy. Thanks again for all your continued support and love through this trying time.

It is very difficult to know what to respond to this as it must have been an incredibly difficult thing to write. Is Cathy still in the Devon Hospital? I would like to come see her but not if she is very uncomfortable and would rather not have too many visitors. Give her my love and I will email Jen and see what the visitors schedule is like. Love, Dorri
ReplyDeleteHi Dorri. I just wanted to make sure you are aware that Cathy is not uncomfortable. Actually unless she has to lay flat on her back she has no pain at all. It is just that Cathy is getting so many visitors she is not getting enough rest. By the end of the day she is exhausted. It is actually tougher than you think to tell people who want to see her that they have to make an appointment but at this time it is all about what is best for Cathy and we have to do what she needs done. I am sure Cathy would like to see you. Thanks Dorri for all you have done for Cathy.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandy. I will wait patiently for Jen to email me and tell me my place in line. Take care everyone. Love, Dorri
ReplyDeleteHello Everyone, I was one of the lucky ones to see Cathy on Thursday night. She looks beautiful and we shared some tears and giggles. But like Sandy says she is tired. We were there 15 minutes and that was all Cathy could take. She is extremely tired and when we asked if she had enough visiting she said yes and we respected her wishes. I would just like to ask all visitors to limit the amount of time you spend also because you never know how many others stop to see her without making an appointment. 15 minutes seems to be enough and then she can take a nap before anyone else shows up. Just thought this might help.

The Calender has been updated to include Cathies down time so when you are looking to see when you can go it should show up now. Anyone can view the calender at http://tinyurl.com/cathycalender
